Fiona is doing so good!

Hi everyone on the Goldenmeadows team,
Our FiFi is having such a great time in Marblehead, MA. Here are some photos of our trip to get here and all the good stuff along the way and all the great stuff since then. Yesterday, she met my son and his fiancé and we all went out to lunch. Today we went to a local Vizsla off leash meet-up and swim. She loves cuddling in bed with us, especially in the early morning, works her way onto our laps all the time, enjoys walking along the rail trail to the bird preserve and down the block to the ocean. My boyfriend has fallen head-over-heels for her, and he keeps looking at the photos of Maple and thinking that one V is never enough. But our Fiona is literally the new lightbulb in our hearts and we feel so happy. It’s like she’s the spirit of summer. There was a brief period last week that wasn’t so fun because there was a growth on FiFi’s nipple that we had biopsied, and the spot got infected, but she’s 100% fine now, and the biopsy results were totally normal.
I am pondering not spaying her, so I am curious what her heat schedule has been like the past few years. She was in heat from around June 10 through June 30.. Has she been every six months? Or every 7 or 8? Every one asks me how many babies she’s had. I say I don’t know, but I’m curious. Do you know? Also I can’t tell you how many hours I spent trying to look for pics of FiFi’s puppies because I know they must look a little like her. Would love to see them. Everyone says she’s as sweet as it gets; she’s honestly sugar straight through with the kindest heart. And she’s so smart! She’s gotten great at waiting in a sit until I put her food bowl down, has not had a single accident in the house, is terrific at sit, spin, and huggies. Her recall is amazing, and she always comes when we call, but we aren’t ready to off leash her in a field quite yet. Bought her the Fi collar and a longer leash so we can practice. She sometimes startles on walks when something big drives by, but isn’t afraid of sounds at all as long as she’s in the house when they happen. Still working on settle. Although you can’t tell from these photos because I get nervous taking pics, her loose-leash walking and light jogging is so so very good—she’s just a pro at not pulling! I brush her teeth about 2-3 times a week. Is that often enough? And her tail goes thwack-thwack-thwack with delight all day long. She could be a drummer!

I hope you’re all well,
Jenny
