Today is the first day we officially took Cash out as Brady’s service dog. Our first adventure was at the World Famous SD Zoo! Cash was quite the celebrity and soooo many people stopped to admire him! He was as calm as calm can be and Brady really enjoyed having him with us for the day.
We really enjoy having Cash a part of our family. He has really made Brady, as well as my younger son, Weston happy as clams. Brady has taken on the responsibilities of brushing, feeding and walking (well, we really do it but we let Brady think he is), and it has given him a sense of independence and responsibility. It’s fantastic to see!
Cash also lays behind Brady’s chair during his 5 days of therapy. It keeps him calm and he really enjoys “showing” Cash what he can accomplish, like puzzles and memory games. Whenever Brady is having a frustrating or difficult time coping with something, Cash simply comes to be by him and has nuzzled his neck, which calms Brady right away. Even our 2 year old loves him to death!
The best part is that Cash still loves to play and I frequently take him for a “Mommy and Cash” date at the park to play fetch. He’s just fantastic. I can’t thank you enough for matching us with him!
I’ll send more photos as we get them!
