Von Falconer Training: Stages of Puppy Development

Picking the right puppy for your family is never easy. There are so many different breeds of dog that can be trained so many different ways. Getting a puppy that is already trained is, of course, ideal. But which training method should you choose? The Von Falconer method of training puppies is an incredible way of nurturing puppies so that they become intelligent, well-rounded dogs.

Expose Puppies to Common Sounds

One of the basic tenants of the Von Falconer training method is sound conditioning. By exposing small puppies to loud, distracting sounds at specific times, they learn how to appropriately react. They are conditioned to be used to common household sounds, like banging and crying babies. This way, they will have been exposed to these sounds before they come into your home, and you will know that they will not react adversely.

Learn to Accept Discipline

Early in their training, puppies learn to accept discipline when they act inappropriately. They learn to submit to their owners through their training. When the puppies act out, they are gently disciplined. This means that they will not act out when you discipline them in your home.

Learn to Follow

Another important learning experience for any puppy is learning to follow. This method teaches puppies to follow their owners without a leash. They are taught to follow you and only you. Puppies will learn to follow even when other people and objects are introduced into their area. This means that they will follow you wherever you go without worry.

Gain Better Control of Their Bodies

All of this means that the puppies are completely in control of themselves. The puppies learn how to appropriately react to things, so that they know exactly how to act in every situation. They learn to not act up and accept punishment when they do something bad, making them the perfect puppy for your family.

Through the Von Falconer Way, puppies are conditioned in various ways so that they can gain better control over themselves. These trained puppies grow into incredible, well-mannered dogs that will make your family very happy.
